As can be seen by my signature I am in the midst of a cleaning phase utilizing A-Rx. I have done an extensive amount of reading on this forum and have decided on utilizing Schaeffers Supreme 7000 10w30 following the rinse phase. I am perplexed as whether or not to use an A-Rx "Maintenance Dose (3 oz.)" in conjunction with the Schaeffer's product. Several have suggested that the Schaeffers will not be at its full potential if combined with the MD. Others of course have suggested that the A-Rx has no effect on the host oil. Just helps to maintain a clean engine. I can't wrap my head around the thought that the introduction of 3oz. of A-Rx will have no effect on the host oil either positive or negative.

Help!! MD or not to MD????? Your thoughts??

Auto-Rx will have no effect on oil. None at all. Auto-Rx is a metal cleaner and uses oil as a carrier only. The Maintenace program will keep your oil cleaner allowing your engine never to have to be cleaned again while keeping the oil in top condition.

When your done with your Auto-Rx Application you will have new benchmarks in compression & combustion using the Auto-Rx maintenance program those benchmarks will stay consistent.

Hope you have a better understanding .

Thank You for an intelligent post

Thanks for the advice. As you can see from my original post my intention is to use Schaeffers following the rinse phase. I purchased 6 quarts of Wal-Mart Super Tech 10w30 earlier today to use for the rinse phase.

I agree BrianWC. OIl analysis has shown that the maintenance dose was quite effective in both M1 and PP when used in extended drains. Both tests on the Rx web site were after running a cleaning and rinse application.
