Lug nut issue

Those look like the 140 foot pound washer style lugs that my F-450/F-SuperDuty has-those need to be pretty tight or the wheel will move around & oval the lug holes quickly. Lucky that didn’t fall off completely, that looks pretty bad. Glad mine are steel with SS covers & not alloys!
150 in the book or 165 ft lbs when the truck is sitting on the wheels. The nuts where never tightened on that side so the drive home started snapping them off . I've never been so frustrated at a tire shop before! :ROFLMAO: The book says we can put a drop of oil on that flat washer but I've never done that yet. Those F450's are nice!

I ended up going to HD and getting the Husky with a 19mm deep impact socket. HD was closer and they were the same price before discounts.

Aluminum wheels should be retorqued after 50-100 miles of initial tightening. The rear of the wheel where it mates to the hub and the hub must be clean.
Good point - Every 2nd or 3rd rotation is done at home to wire brush what is needed …
