I (used to) shop at Target every Saturday for my weekly shopping. I added up my Target purchases on my red card for the last year. They totaled $11,673, spent in the last 12 months, in your stores. As long as this new no guns policy is in effect, I will vow to never spend another red cent in your stores.
I live in Florida, a state with a population of 20 million people. Currently, Florida has issued 1.3 million permits. Not including those under 21 that can’t legally carry a concealed firearm and felons, that means that about one in fourteen adults in Florida has a concealed weapons permit. ONE IN FOURTEEN!! One in Fourteen of your adult shoppers, at any given time, are potentially carrying a concealed firearm in your stores, in Florida. There have been absolutely zero issues with concealed carry in your Florida stores, despite the large number of citizens legally carrying firearms in your stores.
You just alienated a huge portion of your customer base. This was a VERY stupid decision on your part. You would have been much smarter to just ignore the issue altogether and remain neutral.
I imagine you will see a 5-15% drop in revenue in the coming weeks/months. Better come up with a creative way to combat that. Your shareholders (and customers) deserve more.
you just gave them incentive to install metal detectors and frisk you at the door....
Which probably would gain them millions of soccermoms as new customers.
Bravo, Fellow Gun owner.
