I would prefere Michigan but I can mail them out any place so long as they do good work. I also need quick turn around time!

Forgive my aging memory.
There is a place in Conneticut that specializes in this. They have a web site so a search should find them.
As long as you are not going to pay dealer prices, aftermarket replacements should be just as good at a similar price level.

John... get them new.
Most rebuilds are not worth the money.
A lot of cases they just clean the old ones, and
you have a high failure rate in general...
Stick with new...

Well they are not bad yet. I have to replace the upper intake manifoldon my GM 3.8 V6 and maybe the lower as well. I figured if I am going to be in their I might as well replace theinjectors at the same time. I might just replace the seals and call it good. Buick Lasaber 1997 120,000 miles. I tell you what I have owned 3 used American made vechiles and 1 new one. SO far I have been totaly disatified with their durability. I have yet to have one last past 100,000 miles with out a failure of some powertrain componet! Most of them failed at 50,000 miles. Unfortunetly for me the imports especialy Toyotas are often higher priced and hold there value so well it is often hard to get them at a price I can afford.

John,

You can clean the injectors yourself... after they're out, open them with a AA battery connected to the terminals, and then spray/soak with injector cleaner. Are they Bosch injectors? If they are worn so that they don't seal when closed, then I think it would be best to replace them. I haven't gotten that far on my '98 Lumina.[knock wood graemlin]

Why are you pulling the intake? Is it leaking coolant? Our Lumina hasn't had any problems, and it has 90,000 mi on it. I'm getting ready to pull a UOA on it so we shall see.

I agree with import prices. Paid $7,000 for the Lumina 21/2 years ago. The same money would have bought a 10 year old Honda Accord with 100,000 mi on it at that time.

I have used RC engineering in the past. THey sell lucas raceing injectors wich are disc type instead of pintel(sp) type. I hae a set of their higher flowing injectors in my old 4Runner. I recalibrated the MAF sensor to acont for them!

Well in a lot of cases, the use of a good fuel system cleaner will get the injectors clean.

I know for certain a guy I work with had clogged injectors, and he used a fuel treatment and after a couple applications he was set.

John, would you happen to be in the Houson area?

I clean periodically with BG44-K cleaner that you put in the gas tank. I agree that new are a better alternative to used injectors. If you remove the injectors for any reason, then replace the O-rings. Personally, I've had very good luck with American made cars, and when you do need parts, they are lots cheaper. I use Lucas UCL on a regular basis for preventive maintenance and so far, so good. BTW, the 3.8 is a durable engine if well maintained and the manifold gasket problem isn't a big deal to fix. Even if you took it to the shop, shouldn't be too expensive. But to make a long story short, don't replace the injectors if they are still working well. Last time I bought one it was around 80 bux. Good luck!
