While in Brazil you should try Xingu a dark black brew named after a tributary of the Amazon river. It is malty and slighty sweet with a 5% ABV.

I've been there, done that

There are lots of brews here that are supposed to improve your "health"

Today's Lager: Samuel Adams Double Bock
ABV 8.8%

If you want to know what malt taste like try this rich malty brew. It pours with a thin tan colored head that dissapates quickly and has a copper colored body. The flavor of the four malts shine through with hints of toffee & molasses.

I like a good, malty bock beer. By the way, the German noun "Bock" means buck (male goat) or ram (male sheep). I s'pose that's because after a few Maß (1 Maß=1 liter) you'll likely start making merry, bleating noises.

La Rulles Tripple is a rather low ABV triple at 6.4% but it shows off with Brussels Lace all around the glass. Straw gold in color with a creamy white head and floral aroma.
Product of Belguim,

bud sucks imo.... guiness is great, worst beer ever = tecate.... correction, bud doesn't suck....it's good for beer butt chicken and beer battered fish

I am drinking a world classic beer, Rodenbach Grand Cru. It is aged at least 18 months in oak barrels before bottling. This is a Flemish (Belgium region) Red/Sour Ale. This is a great ale to serve with dinner. Lots of flavors, sourness, and thirst quinching.

I can't even fine RodenBach around here. The last time I had it was at the Toronado in Haight in S.F. YUMMY!

If you are ever in the area visit Sandy's Liquors in San Luis Obispo or Frank's Liquors in Visalia. Either of them have a ton of great beers.

Samichlaus for the once in a while beer. Brewed on Dec 6 and released a year later, its thick rich and creamy. Like Guiness' grandfather. A minimum of 12% abv makes this a welcome treat.

I have tried 3 or 4 bottles of Grolsch beer,
every one of them had that skunky smell, must be the traveling from Europe.

Chimay,

Have you ever tried Chimay cheese with beer?

I can only find Chimay cheese at one store around here,
didn't realize til after I looked up the Chimay cheese name that these are the
same people who make the Chimay Beers.
The Chimay cheese has a strong odor but tasted great with beer,
Chimay cheese is soft and crumbley, the taste has a little bite to it.
I recommend it with beer, I never knew cheese could taste this good with beer.

Bill,

I have tried cheese with beer and I prefer darker beers with cheese such as a Chimay Grande Reserve to pair it up with. Chimay makes a couple different cheeses one is made with Chimay Grande Reserve and goes well with any rich dark tastey ale.

Samichlaus maybe classified as a barlywine and is a great winter warmer to be drank out of a snifter glass with caution at 12%ABV.
