I have not read much about Kendall, but this is what Firestone uses. I burn about 1/2 qt every 3k, so I don't want to spend money on a synth.

From what I have seen, its a VERY good oil - great for your car.

And yeah, 1/2 quart every 3k on a 155k motor...you're doing good!

If you're using 5w- or 10w30, this should be a synthetic blend like cousins Motorcraft and TropArtic. I think this is a very good oil for your car.

Hey
To the OP, I have herd that Preludes are notorious oil burners, a friend of mine has a 2000 lude,

anyway , my Girl friends civic was a heavy oil burner...., I tried a product called cermax and it completly cured it in less than 1 hour.
if you are trying to find it google "cermax inc", and it is the first link.........., anyway . I know this stuff is for real, just check out the oil additives section on this forum. there are two posts on it already., both from long time members.,

Have you tried using maxlife 5w30 ?, its an easy to find good oil.

Where are you finding Kendall dino? All the Kendall labels built for passenger vehicles (5-10W/20/30) are synthetic blend.

When I had my 99 last gen Honda Prelude, I got rid of it at 109k, and I was starting to burn some oil. I had the VTEC black smoke from the tale pipe on throttle some. I switched to Maxlife 5w30 and all was good. This was before I knew anything about motor oil. All I knew was it wasn't smoking anymore and I was happy.

Kendall is one of Conoco/Phillips brands. I don't think there are many, if any, real differences between the Conoco, Phillips, 76 and Kendall branded motor oils in a given class and weight.

Kendall seems to mostly be showing up as a bulk oil in various chain stores while Phillips (TropArtic) is more common in bottles on retail shelves.

Yeah, I think I'd run HM 10w30 like VMLB if it were my Honda with 155K. JMO

My '94 with 150k has no leaks. I ran an ARX cycle throught in when I bought it and have used MaxLife since with no issues. Been a great car.

Thanks for the replies guys, Yeah the motor is bulletproof, no drips, no leaking at the head gasket or anything the engine is really strong, I take it to redline all the time.

The AAP near me started carrying 10w30 Kendall GT-1. I looked all over the bottle for anything indicating it was a syn blend but saw nothing.
