MS keeps mentioning IE and MS Video ActiveX as the culprits. Either the other browsers are safe, or they do not acknowledge that there are any other ones.

I don't even know what MS Video is.
 
I read that for those still using XP that if they would download and install IE 8 that it would address the security issue that has popped up this time.

For those that don't care for Firefox, I would recommend that they give the new version of Opera a try.
 
I beg to differ. XP has been more stable than my previous Win2k installations.

Although, I actually enjoy Vista, so I guess I'm generally a minority in these things...

IE8 too incompatible with most Vbulletin boards I'm on. Quick reply button results in quoting, and all sorts of weird things, so I went back to IE7.
 
IE8 refuses to even install on my XP running PC. It goes through the entire install process, then gives a message at the end that it failed to install.

No big loss I guess, as I normally run Firefox anyway.
