Is there a slight bump up in MPG as oil shears?

Technically when an oil thins it should theoretically increase gas mileage but at the same time the components causing the oil to thin i.e. fuel dilution and soot dirtying the engine also causing the oil to lose some of its lubricity negate each other hence no discernable difference in gas mileage.
 
I see the moderator combined the two identical questions/threads started by this OP. I wonder if he's gotten his answer yet?
