And if I use a larger filter and extend my change interval to match?

Dodge initially recommended this with the 95 Neons, they spec'd a relatively huge filter(same one as on their V10) and then put in the owners manual that you could change the filter at every other oil change.
I suppose that dodge did some research before they recommended this.
In later years they changed to a smaller filter (due to the large one hanging to low, my car looks like I rally it under there) and then recommended changing the filter at every oil change again.
In the Tracker I guess I could run some giant filter as it has lots of space, and change it once a year, but I haven't bothered to cross reference it and I don't think I will now.

If proof becomes the basis for opinion, BITOG might cease to exist!
