Did the oil change and could only extract out 1qt per transmission and re-filled with NAPA synthetic 15W-50.
Added ZDDP additive and raised Zn 1200 ppm and P 1100 ppm
Sounds less whinny with 34 hrs on the ZTR. Sending and will post oil analysis.
Looks dirty but I didn’t see any shiny flakes.
2nd time driving the ZTR and it is definitely smoother. I would recommend changing the trans oil on these sealed units to remove initial break-in metals at 30-50hrs. On the bigger commercial units Hydro suggests an initial oil change +filter at 50-100hrs. My unit has no filter and Hydro recommends never changing the oil unless it becomes containimated.
I can see adding a transmission drain and fill every 50-100hrs to a maintenance schedule as being beneficial.
