1993 ford escort lx wagon with a 1.9 litre and 5 speed manual. 160k on the clock, bought with 80k on it. Oil used since bought has been MC 5W-20 and MC oil filter, changed day it was bought and every 7,500 miles since. I will have to add a half quart at about 3,500 to 4,000 on the fill and it will be shy of half quart at 7,500 miles. The last to changes have been with Rotella T 15w40 since wal-mart don't carry MC oils anymore and also because I have a bunch of Rotella aready in the shed. First fill of Rotella went for a little to long, When I got around to it it had 9,450 miles on it and I think I had a quart in make-up.

I have two oil leakers, 1987 Mazda B2000 and 1992 Buick Skylark, they never leak enough to have to add oil during 3000-4000 mile OCI's, and they don't burn oil.

2002 LS1 Camaro SS 27K miles of hard useage and it burns no noticeable amount in 3K mile intervals.

2000 Jeep TJ 2.5L 57K miles Maybe 1/4qt over 7K or 6 month interval. Mainly happens after hard offroading where there are hill climbs. Little 4banger loves bouncing off the rev limiter attacking steep inclines.

1983 Hammond Challenger 5.9L 360ci SBC 345hours since last rebuild. No noticeable amount burned in drain interval 25-50 hours.

Cars I also maintain for family members.....

2003 Trailblazer 4.2L 9K miles None
1998 Jeep TJ 4.0L 85K miles 1/4qt-1/2qt using 10w30, None using 5W-40 or 15w40.
2005 Ford 500 3.0L None
1991 Toyota Corolla 1.8L? 128K miles None

- 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT - 82,000 miles - none per 3000 miles

- 1981 Toyota Cressida - 162,000 miles - 1 quart per 3000 miles

1998 Corvette, 50,000 miles, 7000 miles into my current interval, dipstick level has not changed since I poured it in!

2000 Civic, 64,000 miles, 6000 miles into the current interval, dipstick level hasn't changed!

It's awesome to finally own two vehicles which don't use oil!

Both of my current vehicles ('99 Malibu, 34,000 miles and '02 Dakota, 35,000 miles) burn no oil between changes.

My old S-15 Jimmy, '89, with the 4.3L and 160,000 miles burned almost half a quart between changes. I think most of it was due to the infamous GM Valve guide seal problem (the puff of blue smoke in the morning upon start-up).

2001 Sentra 2.0(Mobil 1 10w30 EP), 70,000 miles, no makeup required in 4,000 oci.

2003 Windstar 3.8 (MC 5w-20), 20,000 miles, no makeup required in 3,000 oci.

1995 Mustang GT 5.0(GC 0w-30), 133,000 miles, around 1 quart for 5,000 oci.

1998 Kawasaki ZX-9R(Mobil 1 15w-50), 22,000 miles, no makeup required in 2,000(or one year) oci.

1995 Ford Explorer, 110,000mi (5w30 Valvoline Maxlife Synthetic): No make-up oil in 4,000 mi. This seems pretty good for this kind of vehicle, but I don't have much personal experience with these, except for this one.

1983 Ford F250, 460 V8, 99,500 mi (5W-40 Rotella Synthetic): Not sure yet, but seems to use no oil since valve cover gasket leaks fixed. In process of ARX treatment to (hopefully) eliminate rear main seal leak... so far, so good.

1976 Chevy C20, 350 V8, 5,500 mi on engine (5w30 M1): Again, not sure yet... to new to tell and I've been changing oil at 3 mo intervals until this Feb, when switched to M1 and now doing 6 mo intevals.

In a 10,000 mile OCI with Schaeffer's 5w30 Blend and LC and FP, 0 oil usage in a 2002 Explorer with 53,000+ miles on it. In fact it remained "overfilled" because of the initial extra 5 oz of LC at initial oil change and the extra 1 0z every 1,000 miles. I only put in 5 quarts of oil per the owner's manual whereas I found out the dealer was puting in 6 quarts of oil when they were changing it because they "always" use 6 quarts for an Explorer oil change

. Oh well, it didn't do any damage for the first 25,000 miles. My 1996 2.0L 4 cyl.Contour sometimes uses about 4 oz in 3,600 miles if I run high speed highway miles for hours at a time such as when we go from NJ to FL and back. It does that with the Schaeffer's 5w30 Blend or Mobil 1 5w30, no LC or FP is used. Lastly my 2002 F-150 uses no oil in between OCI's. Though they are short ones, usually less than 4,000 miles, due to the type of driving. I'm using Motorcraft 5W-20.

94 Corolla - LOTS!; 107K on the odo
98 Olds 88 - 1/2 quart or so per 3,000 mile changes; 110K on the odo
98 Blazer - 1/2 quart or so per 3,000 mile changes; 170K on the odo

1994 Volvo 944T, 150K: uses about 1/2 to 3/4 quart between 5K changes. Currently running Castrol Syntec 10w30

1991 Volvo 744T, 215K: uses about 1-1/2 to 2 quarts between 5K changes depending upon how hard it's being driven. A small amount is probably from a rear main seal leak, but the majority is probably going through the turbo. Currently running Valvoline Premium Blue 15w40, but it's due to be changed.

1990 Volvo 244, 185K: uses about 1/2 quart between 5K changes - again, some is probably going out the rear main seal. Currently running Pennzoil 10w30 HM.

1987 Volvo 245, 155K: maintained for a friend. Uses about 1/2 quart between 5K changes. Currently running Castrol GTX 10w30.

1985 Volvo 245, 235K: uses about 1 to 1-1/2 quarts between 5K changes. Currently running Exxon Superflo 10w30.

1979 Volvo 242GT: true mileage unknown, but at least 180K: uses no oil - up on blocks in garage with Amsoil 15w40 and LC in the crankcase.

Oh yeah, the F150 that uses no oil is on 10w40, but I don't recall it having used much even back when I ran 5w30 in it. Other two are 10w30. Brand somewhat variable and usually there is a mix of interesting stuff.

Triple Se7en:

The '98 K1500 5.7L vortech uses whatever dino 5w30 I can get my hands on.

It's had two OCI's with valvoline high mileage. It happens to have M1 5w30 in there now (that was in my garage)...first use of synth....try to get more than 3k oci's.

It's 400miles into an ARX clean cycle...although I've got no complaints leak/power/sludge wise..just thought it was the thing to do at these miles.

I think religious, if not excessive oil changing accounts for the no make-up oil.

99 Jeep TJ 4.0- no consumption over 10k and 12k with D1 (98k on engine)
Consumed 1 quart in 3k with RTS. No consumption since (only at 7k)
2002 TJ 2.5- on D1 less than .5 quarts consumption @ approx 6k with D1 + Agip PC 5w-40 ..none with RTS

91 3.0 Taurus- 135k. Consumption by the hour of operation with any oil prior to Auto-Rx. None since (limited mileage since cleaning/rinse) on MC 5w-20 WallMart special.

92 3.0 Caravan 171k- consumed oil from new after 3k with anything. Recently oil swapped like underware...so I don't know

1997 Buick 3100 V6, 64,000 Miles on the clock, no consumption in 6,000 mile OCIs from new, Pennzoil Performax full synthetic 5w30.

1998 Chrysler 3800 V6, 172,000 miles on the clock, consumes a pint in 5,000 miles, 10,000 mile OCIs, Mobil 1 5w30.

92 Camry 176,000 with a head gasket oil leak uses about a quart in 2000 miles. Now using Delo 15w40
2000 Buick regal GS about 3/4 qrt in 7500 miles/

02' F150 5.4L TritonV8 4X4 33.5K miles
Currently using M1 0W-20 SS - this OCI is at 3500 miles + 5 months, have replaced about 3/4 qt.
Am going with M1 5W - 30 SS EP soon, for the hot weather.
