It does not take much water flow to cool an engine with a properly functioning cooling system. Much less than you would think.I can confirm that a 1/8 hole will slow down the warm up... made that mistake before.

Nope. Looks different than a stant or motorad.
Who sells that brand?aah ok ok
Anyway, Facet seems to make a thermostat for your Jeep that has a jiggle pin. Facet seems to be made in Italy. Part number 7.8204S
Mopar still offers a thermostat for you TJ wrangler PN 52028186AC per my Starparts catalog. The aftermarket stat will have small grooves around the piston that is supposed to do the same thing.they do...kinda. definitely makes it take longer to warm up.
The oe stat is no longer available for my Jeep so I'm stuck with longer warm up times.
Inside the jeep box is a motorad stat. Already been there. It's junkMopar still offers a thermostat for you TJ wrangler PN 52028186AC per my Starparts catalog.
I don't understand, are the mopars made my motorad now? I haven't checked, I have one in stock at my dealership I'll take a look at in the morning. If you're concerned about fakes just go to your local dealer with the number and have them open the box so you may inspect it. Online stuff is a gamble and we all know it.Inside the jeep box is a motorad stat. Already been there. It's junk
I did. I went to the local dealer and when I looked in the box it was a motorad. I left it on the counter. Prolly not enough sales for jeep to sell the original.I don't understand, are the mopars made my motorad now? Just looked at it, it does say motorad, made in Israel. does have the jiggle pin.I did. I went to the local dealer and when I looked in the box it was a motorad. I left it on the counter. Prolly not enough sales for jeep to sell the original.
Yep. In the past I bought oem ones that were made in USA. I tried a motor rad one from the dealer a couple years ago and it failed after 2 weeks. Same with the motorad ones from AutoZone,Napa and orileys.Just looked at it, it does say motorad, made in Israel. does have the jiggle pin.
Was taught at age 14 to do this. 51 years and never a problem doing this. 4 cyl, 6 cyl, V8 never had a problem. Engines always warmed up to temp quickly with no coolant temp fluctuation.1/8 is way too big. Will take forever to warm up

Some 2002 Jeep 4.0L, unfortunately like mine, have the older (1999-2001?) non-TUPY head with the very unforgiving thin casting. I've been told to be very careful bleeding the air out after a coolant change. Just in case that helps someone. Is it the 2002 Wrangler in your sig? If so, there is an OE Mopar thermostat listed for a 2002 Wrangler on Rock Auto, though it is $30
