How many runners we got?

My wife and I are running in a 10k race today actually! My wife has done a lot of running in the past, having done half marathons and a few 5 and 10k runs, but I have never done a single race before today. I did a full practice run on the exact course a couple of weeks ago and I was a bit sore for a few days afterwards. Hopefully today will go much easier for me. I do prefer to walk for exercise compared to running, but I'm up for this challenge. My biggest concern today is that they are calling for thunderstorms during the time of our race.

My legs are super sore this morning, but I managed to finish that 10k run last night before the organizers packed up and went home for the night!

I wasn't super quick, it took 1:18, but it was my first ever race too. I think that if I ever do another one, I will stick with 5k, that's a much more comfortable distance for me for now.

If you want the soreness to end, do it regularly.

I used to run a minimum of 10 km per day, five days per week. Then there was no pain.

My physiology is strange, I guess. For whatever reason, I prefer to run on pavement or concrete. I get less joint pain on those surfaces than on grass or gravel, which is totally nuts and contrary to what most experience. I also prefer to run in the heat, the hotter the better.

I do 3+ miles every other night. Hopefully will get back up to 10+ miles here in a couple months. Every time I get up 10-12 miles something always happens to knock me down. Want to do a half marathon in the fall but frankly runs are getting too expensive and not worth fighting the crowd so we'll see.

My quads are still a little bit sore and I can still feel a little bit of pain at the top of my right foot too! So I definitely pushed myself too hard!

I was talking to my dad about running the other day, as he used to be an avid runner when I was kid. He told me he used to run 10k every single day as part of his daily routine and he ran in a few half marathons as well. He never felt any type of pain after those runs.
