How many checks do you write in a month?

I probably average about half a check per month for miscellaneous, not any regular bill. I have an eccentric friend who says he likes writing checks, and probably averages more than one per day.

Just when paying for town taxes and excise taxes and other town stuff. At most 8-10 a yr. I'll bet the checks are 20 yrs old.

2-4 a month. I may write one, my wife does 2-3.
More during the school year since a lot of the kids things are easier to pay by check (and they charge more if paying by CC, and don't have direct withdraw option).

I bought 500 checks several years ago and have about 1/3 left.

I write one at least once a week - the daycare I take the kids to takes checks and I pay them once a week. The garbage collection company also only takes checks - no online bill pay available, so I write a check to them once a month. Annual car taxes are also paid by check, to avoid a surcharge for using a credit card online. Everything else is paid online or with a credit card.

once or twice a month to people I TRUST.

I don't give strangers a check that has my account # and routing number at bottom! For strangers I use USPS money orders, safer, more secure than cash!

My kids' schools are the last holdouts. And my landline phone company.

And the darn schools make me prepay for stuff 6 weeks in advance then hold onto the $11 check for twice as long before bothering to cash it.
