Agreed wholeheartedly.

So how do we fix it ?

wipe the slate clean and start again ?

Grandfather the current perps out of it ?

Cut down on demand for the product is the only way I see it. That's why it's such a tough nut......but it can be started.

Nuclear power.
Natural Gas.
Clean coal.
Conservation.
Equal support for alternative energy (geothermal/solar/wind/ocean/etc) which works, quick dumping of "fuels" such as corn ethanol, some biodiesel feedstocks that don't work.

I sound like a broken record all over again.

Pablo,

I'd change the order of your list a tad.

And eliminate "Clean Coal" as trying to "polish a turd"

But I agree in the large part.

I'll buy the cake.

Change it as you wish. Only in order of importance to start now for the 5-10 year plan. Need to start the nuke building yesterday.

I left off for (USA centric) reasons: remove artificial barriers within the USA for extracting oil within our own borders.

Actually coal will be doable IMHO. But yes it still produces C02.

I'm interested in the artificial barriers thing, as there's 4 or 5 Oz companies that are drilling/planning drilling, and have tenements in the US that I've been interested in throwing some cash into...they look OK, but I wouldn't be interested in throwing my money into the dumpster should the tenements be closed down, drilling be stopped, or be resumed...sticking to CSM downunder at present
