HDEO choices

currently using Delo 400 multigrade 15W40.

as my supply is running out, i am torn between this 2 choices after a good deal of research and reading.

the tried and tested Delvac super 1300 or this Urania oil? the later is from Petronas which is the national brand of Malaysia. reading the product sheet it seem there is a pretty good amount of group III base oil. worth trying?

I say use the Delvac. It is tried and tested in the motorcycle community and people have logged a lot of miles on some bikes with that or shell rotella.

thanks!!! guess i will just stick with Delvac. i doubt it will make any difference in engine life. normally i just change my oil around 1250 miles but thinking of going a bit longer to about 2000 miles. keeping things short and sweet.

my part of the world doesn't have Rotella. We only have Rimula which isn't really the same thing as far as my research tell me.

generally, the HDEO is pretty old spec here. Oil is also much more expensive compare to the states. i guess our HDEO price here is able to buy motorcycle specific oil over in states.

Why would you change your oil at 1250 or even 2K? That is a complete waist of good oil. Delvac can easily go to 3 or 4k OCI.

i riding a 135cc moped. the EO capacity is only slightly more then a quart. normal operation is about 7000-8000rpm. so i figure out that i keep the OCI short. i know of folk changing it at 2000-2500miles using HDEO with the same bike. just having a peace of mind?

for small bike it is fine to go this far? sadly, we don't have easy access to UOA.

I think 2k changes are a good compromise between peace of mind and affordability. you should be fine.

sadly i don't have easy access to UOA here.

maybe i will just use Schaeffer Supreme 9000 5w50 and double to OCI after finishing my stock of 15w40. actually thinking about Maxima Ultra 5w50 but it cost twice as much as schaeffer so well... still, i just love ester and moly in the oil. haha...
