Has anyone ever used this bionic wrench?

Nothing i would be interested in but Sears really worked this guy over knocking it and even the commercials off. I hope that company goes down the tubes sooner than later.

More stupid moves from the idiots running/ruining sears. They have already cheapened the craftsman name into uselessness. I don't shop there anymore. I used to buy my cheap tools there as they were made in USA now I don't bother with the place at all.

I remember when this made the news, but I haven't heard any more about it since. (YouTube posting is a few years old)
First, like it was implied, a patent can be almost worthless, especially if held by an individual or small corporation.
Second, the patent dispute can take many years to go through the court system and cost the original patent holder hundreds of thousands of dollars in lawyer fees, which may never be recovered, especially if Sears goes belly up.
I, too, hope Sears assumes room temperature. The sooner, the better.

EDIT: The Bionic Wrench is listen in the Sears Web Site. Did the inventor win the court case?

I've used it. The problem is that it's very big in diameter around the bolt head. A lot of bolts won't have enough space around them for it to fit. Also, it has to be on the bolt completely straight for it to work

+1 very limited use a gimmick gadget to sell ...Sears must be on the back seat for some quick sales.

I have more respect for the trash sold at Northern Tool than the swill at Sears.
Horror Fraught Tools is also fun, but I'm closer to a Northern Tool.

I visit Home Despot the most.

The tools making the decision at Sears can just die of a heart attack. Instead of going to this guy who makes made in America tools and asking if it would be possible to lower the price per unit, they decide to ask APEX to make it offshore in China. Probably only saved Sears 50 cents to $1 per unit. Had they even ASKED the guy I'm sure that he would have been able to cut cost and match the price. Sears doesn't care about American job - PERIOD.

I've seen the bionic wrench, but haven't bought it and probably won't. It is a gimmick tool, plus I have 14 real wrenches that replace it.

On the other hand, the Sears version is clearly a rip off of the original invention. The courts and lawyers may say otherwise, but they would be wrong.
