I have moved on. AC Delco looked great with straight and uniform pleats after 5000 miles. WIX is in place now. In another 2000 miles, I will have a nice set of pictures on the WIX.

Where is the proof that Purolator revised product is up to snuff?

There will never be enough proof for the BITOG hater crew.

So post some new and improved Purolators cut.

Easy enough.

Why wallow in the same pile of [censored] for the next 5 years.

To sell some other manufacturer's filters?

Not on my nickel. No reason to throw good money after bad.

Maybe when my current stash of filters is used up I will think about doing it.

Says the guy who's still bitter over stuff that happened 20 years ago with Fram filters.

Their website says these will be called Purolator Tech now. They don't say the bottom end filters were improved, only the One and the Boss. I may try the Boss someday in my small version which has the round holes and nice adbv system. They are pricey though and seem to be not widely available. Just cut open a Bosch D+ and thought it was a good design. I don't see the Boss as having the problems with tearing, as the media is already well tested and used by MB. It seems it is the same at least. I would rather they sell it for less and not worry about patenting the box and using an expensive paint scheme.

I am amazed by the logic some people use to make their filter choices.

Purolator manufactured oil filters have demonstrated persistent media tearing failures for a significant number of parts. Many folks have chosen to avoid troublesome parts by choosing something else. The burden of proof rests with the part manufacturer to state what was changed and when to solve a particular problem. When I submitted this problem to Motorcraft, I did not receive a response. I take this to mean they are not interested in customer service.

Since there are many viable choices on the market I plan to cycle through a number of them before choosing which ones to use until the truck dies. If someone is offended by this, that is their problem.

Car51 - thanks again for an accurate and informative post. Very well done sir.

WellOiled: I just cut a October 2015 made Tec Select T48 off a Jeep Compass. I'll post it tomorrow and it had 2 tears

Originally, I thought you were convinced there never was an issue.

Now they have revised their line. (Your words)

Interesting..
