GP Petrogen Full Synthetic

@SubieRubyRoo that’s an excellent question. Based on my knowledge, it would likely be challenging to formulate an oil that meets dexos requirements without also meeting API specifications. All the additive packages I’ve encountered that comply with dexos standards have also met an API specification with the same treat rate. The only scenario in which this might occur is if GM permits the use of a base oil, co-additive, or viscosity index improver (VII) that is not explicitly approved by the API.
Moral of this post is if I don’t see a starburst on package: I ain’t risking it. No euronapprovals and somehow has DEXOS sticker on front. It may be decently priced but engines aren’t cheap
that is dexos Gen 2 not Gen 3, no long a valid cert.

Its not mandatory to have API donuts on Jug. You need to have API license and that is what provided by the company on back QR code in Post 11. I have seen many German Oils not having API donuts because its not looking good with the design of their logo but they have API license.

GM follows API when it comes to basis, they will never allow any formulation which are not API approved. In above Oil company is following API but they dont have API donut as many German brands dont want to put API donut on their JUGs. see Post 11 for API licenses through QR code... many brands do not have API license but they put API donuts to confuse customers. I guess this is best way from the company to have QR code which leads you to API license. IMPRESSIVE !!!

Here It is !!

I have seen this and similar other no name oils brand oils and about all of them seem to be used and sold in sketchy inner city shops or Facebook Marketplace. Has the stench of "it fell off a truck" mob fencing connection.

No, it isn't. The list shows their 0W-20 and 5W-30 products, not the 5W-20 the OP posted.

Perhaps that is why you cut that portion out of your post.
I am not supporting any oil nor I am owner LOL. I am sharing things to share what info we have for Lube. In response to your question thats 5w20 DEXOS1 GEN2 and If you know now its new DEXOS1 GEN3 and DEXOS is not approving 5w20 anymore.

Perhaps it will show up in the list of licensed oils.
