Reason for lack of 10W-30 full synthetic ?

Thank you. This is helpful. I just bought a quart of ST 10w30 for my Honda lawnmower. It only takes 350 mL I think, and I change it once a year. The straight 30 for $4.50 is perfect, unless I have some random little dribbles of 5W-30 left over from other jugs.

Fortunately I have moved, and these days are behind me, so SAE 30 is perfect!

If you are changing it yearly, ANY 30 weight, straight or multi-viscosity, will be fine for the Honda. You are already far above and beyond the average owner ;)

Depending on your level of OCD, this would also be a cheap and easy option. Again, both 30 weight at operating temp so all good.

I'm in the camp of a Euro 0W-40 in all my OPE, although these days I have been using ESP 0w30 since that is on the shelf. Good HT/HS and proven oxidation resistance which seems important to me for air-cooled equipment.

Once my T5 runs out, I will be switching to this for my summer OPE. The VOA of it on here showed it to be quite decent if memory serves. For the price, it’s fantastic for power equipment.

Yeah I think I'll just use whatever is left over but if I do need to buy something, I'll grab that ST straight 30. I also have a Honda pressure washer that needs the oil changed now that I think about it...

No volume = higher production costs.

Plus the base oils are going to 10w30 Diesel oils, which are finally picking up in volume… 20 years later, give or take. They’re also going into high VI hydraulic oils as that volume picks up, etc.

10w30 will continue to go the way of the dodo slowly, with only boutique or niche players willing to offer it. Especially a full synthetic.
