From your report, I think you would want a silicon ADBV. The nitrile rubber valves get stiff with time and temperature so lose their functionality rather quickly.


Which ADBV does the 51372 have? That's the filter I used.

It is a red silicone ADBV.

I love Rock Auto but I don't buy enough to justify the shipping costs unless I'm doing a small repair on something else, nor do I keep a big stash, so I just stick with Walmart, O'Reilly or Advanced. I never considered Fram before finding this forum but I certainly will in the future.

Good news is, if you plan on keeping the car, buying 6 XG2s at a time means you can get them for $4.50 each with free shipping-just got to watch for any damaged ones (which I haven't had any trouble getting credit for). I just wish the sellers would let you mix & match which ones you buy.
