The proper oil viscosity that ford recommends may be 5w20 but some people know better than the people that designed the engine, forget the millions ford puts into r&d and all their data and expertise over the many many years every once in a while someone pops up that knows better than the ones that built, tested and perfected their engines.
I have a friend like that i call him cliff (from cheers) if he walked into an operating room where a famous brain surgeon was doing an operation on someones brain he would tell the doctor he is doing it wrong. Great guy but he know more then anyone about everything. Nothing against anyone here but its just that way. I have used 5w30 in vehicles that require 5w20 (Moms 4.6 Grand Marquis) I also use 5w30 QSUD in my 2011 Hyundai Santa fe 3.5

Delvac 1 is a technical synthetic. My point is I can never tell the difference between any fill with respect to sound, unless something is horrifically wrong. One early fill of Quaker State sounded just the same in there, too. Nissan/Infiniti dealers even have a "special" oil for people with sound OCD. It shears. It doesn't have great TBN retention. It costs a fortune. But, it does make some people feel better, and that's really all that matters.
