Turning the wheel to the right on the Grand Marquis caused a loud creaking noise in the front end. Sounded like a house door needibg some oil. Took it to my mechanic and after a lower ball joint replacement all is quiet.... Ahhhhhhh
Can't tell you how many miles and years I have logged in Crown Vics with groaning and popping front ends. They keep on plugging along anyway.... I thought it was a design feature!
It is absurd Ford stopped putting zerks on ball joints. If you ride with your windows down you will hear every high mileage Explorer crown vic and most other fords creaking away.
