I have been cutting open filters since the 1970s the Frams are pretty much the same construction. The TGs are pretty good. It is the Orange can that seems to be lacking.

Oh yea i thought i would update on the Cutco shears. I sent them back in for sharpening and they sent me a brand new full replacement for them, so happy they are new and shiny and sharper again! According to their new ad i got they are $90 retail.

Also my paring knife is now a as sharp as a straight razor again

The thing about the TG, like all Fram/Honeywell oil filters, is the price for construction. They currently run (#7317) $5.94 at Wally. Right now one can get a P1 online for $5, or 3 for $10 with an AAP online code. Not even a close choice.

Even if the price was a tad more I'd choose the P1 for metal endcaps construction. But, at least through the end of the month at AAP, time to stock up on the P1.
