Leaving at 0800 tomorrow morning and plan to stay in Macon, Ga. tomorrow night. All fluids are good with only 5K on this oil change. Tires are good and aired up to 34 psi. This will be the 14th trip to Florida for the Fusion.

This caught me off guard until I realized you're doing 10K OCI's. Safe travels.

Eat some grapefruit and oranges for me.

Can you please bring the sun and spring up to the Northeast on your way back?!

Safe travels.

Pleasure. We have family living in Gainesville.

You may want to check tire pressure at Georgia in the morning before driving down to Florida, the warmer temperature in the south may increase tire pressure few PSI. Also, check tire pressure again the first morning in Florida.

We arrived in Gainesville today at about noon. Spent the night in Macon, Ga. Trip down went well. The Fusion got 31.9,. I set the cruise 0n 72 and used the AC for about 1/3 of the trip. We saw a lot of cars pulling bikes as this is biker week in Daytona.

Have fun! Florida is my favorite place! I plan on spending every winter down there when I retire (realistically that's not for another 16 years or so, unless I come into a nice windfall that allows me to retire tomorrow)

Was born and raised in Florida. I'll be down there in three weeks for my son's graduation. Don't forget to blow the horn and wave as you pass exit 268 (I575) N. of Atlanta on your way back North.

Better get a place now. There are many Canadians buying up everything down there. I bought my retirement home down there in 2012. It has gone up 30% since then.

They had been buying winter home in Florida since 70's and 80's. Many Canadians live in Florida from Nov-Dec until Mar-Apr, and go back to Canada after April. One of the reason is low housing cost in Florida, you can buy a decent 3 bedroom 2 bath about 2,000 sq-ft house in a nice/safe area for no more than $300-400k.

$400K gets you a lot more than that in Central FL. I'm a Realtor.

I'm not sure I want to own a place in Florida though, I think it's probably better to rent one every year instead. That way I could travel to different parts of Florida each winter and not have to worry about the place for the other 8-9 months of the year that I'm not there. Friends of ours rented a nice place in Fort Myers this winter for only about $1500 per month.

I bought in Naples. Central FL is still too cold for me in the Winter months.

There will be a lot of rentals in SW Florida for many years to come. But the prices will go up with the real estate values. The baby boom retirement plus all of the international buyers will push prices higher for sure. Lots of people from Ukraine buying in Naples this year. But if you find a decent place most owners like to have a repeat renter. I have my home rented all year and will keep it that way until I move in 2-3 years.
