Floor jack o ring question

don’t know about jacks and might be dumb question lol but do floor jacks use specific material o rings? Is there special o rings for like hydraulic application like green o rings for ac system’s? 3 ton sears jack spilling oil and the o ring is black and all cracked and just trashed. Will a regular o ring from the auto parts store do the job?

It's best to know what material the "regular" o-ring from the parts store is made of, but in general there are several elastomers resistant to hydraulic fluid. Viton is more expensive but it looks like the usual Buna-N works as well:

National brand o rings says NBR thats the same as buns-n? Nitrile?
