Out here at brothers place. Tons of rock oak and red and white oak all over so we cut bunch of dead ones from recent storms up.

Brother uses fuel oil for heat, fireplace a LOT also and propane for gas stove

This is tonight

Love a real fireplace. Gas logs are nice for looks and maybe some instant heat but nothing beats a real fire and the smell.

I got my chimney cleaned out last year and still haven't had the guts to try it out. Was going to try just a Duralog one time to see how well the odd draft set-up does, but chickened out...

Yeah, we cut down and then cut up a dead cherry tree 2 years ago. Smelled nice with fresh split seasoned rock oak. I like the "musk" smell oak has

We have a gas fireplace that is mainly backup heat for power loss (battery ignitor or match light) ...
I do enjoy burning Live Oak logs in my outside pit under a tin roof ... Even in the pouring rain ... (or especially) ...

4WD: thats a dam nice firepit. I always loved a jice wood fire in the hard coal stove growing up. Saved parents a ton using it too
