This is not a hard concept. It's ok to not understand things, if you are willing to learn. It's not mature to try and make fun of those who understand a concept and try to relay it, or help you understand.
Same with making fun of someone that dives into subjects different than you do.
Most all physical science is based on observation, and then adjusting the math to help prove it.
Mankind is always in a think they know position, on many topics not fully understood, like say gravity. No one knows for sure how the sun really works any more than they know how to create life from just basic elements, meaning not just manipulating existing life some how in a test tube.
Hmmm life and creating it I guess its thermodynamics?
Oh and the latest and greatest laws or theory's of science, you know like the ones back in the old days, where the top scientific belief was the main elements that made up the physical world was, Earth, Water, Air, Fire, Oh and people like me that did not want to settle for that answer, were treated like hmmm me, you know the name calling etc? And worse.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. The invention of a working free energy machine is an extraordinary claim, as no such machine has ever been made before, and no known process in nature creates free energy.
This video fails to deliver sufficient proof. Actually it seems that the machine is receiving energy from a power line through the box on the wall.
The original post is based on the faulty premise that the issuance of a patent means that the inventor has proven to the government that the machine works. No such proof is required to obtain a patent.
Others also pointed out that market forces would act strongly on a free energy device, with some seeking to exploit it and others to destroy it. None of that has happened with this machine.
No science at all is required to understand what I said here.

This is so important and so misunderstood. The only thing required for a patent (except for money) is to show novelty.

Exactly right. In what universe does anyone really believe , the oil and energy companies will sit by and let anything stop their monopoly? After they have taken over a hundred years to perfect and lock up nice and tight every profitable advantage already over the world. Lobbyist and government officials almost always get and give them their ways over state Energy Boards & Commissions. When is the last time the customers came out on the winning end? If there is ever any PM machine, I certainly would not like to be in any way associated with it. There are simply too many big and powerful groups who make tons of money providing the power today and people who invest in those companies to simply roll over and die. Would anyone who could possibly be smart enough to discover what many say is not even possible be stupid enough to show it off all over you tube videos in the first place? NOT.
