Filter One (F1lter One or F1).....who makes these?

Searched here didn't find anything, nothing on google. Picked these up for the wife's leased Jeep....told the parts guy I wanted the cheapest non-fram filter they had and he came back with these. No country or origin on it, and I've never heard of it. I'm familiar with Puro/Champ/Wix but never seen one made like this before with the narrow coil spring in the bottom of the can. Orange colored media and glue. Uses the same WIX part number with F1 on the end, but the WIX 57060 isn't built the same at all.

I'll try and answer all the Q's.
Got it at Benson's Auto Parts, large chain of shops in Eastern Ontario/Western Quebec. $7....which is cheap around here, crazy compared to what they go for in the US of course. Keep in mind Walmart wants $8 here for the Fram version, PF48 Delco's and WIX 57060 are $9, and the WIX recomended filter on the lookup is 57073 which is $14 and is a short stubby sad looking thing

I currently have the WIX 57060 on my ride, and from what I remember, it had a red ADV, and no visable spring in the bottom. Also the can is different as my socket doesn't fit it. I will be changing the oil this weekend so I wil take a better look at it when I get it off. That's what threw me on this F1 thing, as it didn't look like any of the WIX I had used before on our Jeeps.

I had some Advance Auto Parts Total Grips with that same internal spiral core.

Ya, that's right, I built those monstrosities out of Purolator, Wix, and Baldwin parts!

That doesn't look like a Wix to me. It looks identical to the Made in China Parts Plus filter I'm using on my mom's Malibu right now. Hers was sealed like that and has an identical base plate.

I took a look at that picture you posted, and I think it's the same make, too. What is Parts Plus' OF maker, Guardco or something?

Yeah, that looks like it right there. I guess we don't have any laws in Canada that stuff needs to have country of manufacture shown on it.
It's a leased vehicle, so I'm OK with throwing Chinese junk on it
