I need to start researching for portable filter cart either a build or a purchase. My goal is to get the particle counts down on hundreds gallons of 35.00 a gallon oil spread out in different sumps. Most of the sumps are 70-90 gallon range.

I have experience with a CAT built bypass filter cart with a previous employer. But it was time consuming. I want to clean up oil at a much faster more efficient rate.

Anyone have leads/experience with already made systems? Photos of custom made units? Ideas?

Try using a "kidney loop" system on each sump. It is nothing more than a separate pump and high efficiency filter that continuously filters the oil. It is in addition to the system that your systems currently use. Contact your oil supplier, They should be able to point you to a company that provides this service.

many years ago i build such carts. if you can weld and fabricate steel you could build a good cart. just get hooked up with a VERY good hydraulic company. i would use two filters, the first one about 50 microns, the second one 10 microns. a pump that you can dead head with out harm.. and low point drains. put the pump between the filters. must be painted yellow LOL. you can figure the rest.

I saw something like your looking for on the Parker-Hannafin site a while back , even had a pump with it various filters of different micron rating.

Thanks guys,

I have some info coming from a few manufactures. It will probably be more viable to put bypass filtration on each unit.

I may go ahead and build one similar to the parker unit. Just use some better components.
