I went to Wally to get tires replaced because my old Michelins dry-rotted after 6 years. They are still running fine and get me good gas mileage. However, I drive mostly highway and don't feel comfortable with old tires at high speed. Tread is down to minimum so it was time to change.

The tires installed were stated to be made by Goodyear so I told them to use them. I want Michelins but BJ and other tire place no longer carry tires for 92 Corolla. Only Wally and they put in Douglas, which I never heard of. My question is if there is anything I should be mindful of when riding on Douglas. I am [censored] that the warranty is only for 40k miles because the extra cost of hazard and rotation are the same as those tires with 80k miles. Anyway, I will get new wheels and tires in 40k miles and never buy tires from Wally again. I just need to know if these are good.

I've had some and they are suprisingly okay. On a taurus they really held the road; credit goes to the suspension setup on that car but the tires did all I asked. They aren't the price leader they once were, though your small size may have been reasonable.

I don't mind having Walmart installing tires I bought online, but I would never buy any tires from them. Almost all chemicals and fluids are good buy at WM, but car tires is a no no.

I see a TON of people riding on walmart douglas tires.

Walmart seems to be somewhat expensive on tires, so compare them to other places. If you have a sams club card, it might be cheaper to get a name brand tire, then to get the douglas brand from walmart.

I doubt you will get the treadwear of 40k. Consider yourself very lucky if you get even close to that number.

Put a pair on the 'stiva. Originally they were on the back but I rotated them to the front where the also new Firestone's were. Rides quite a bit better over the FR380's. Well part of the bad ride was being unbalanced something Walmart apparently can do but Firestone can't. Didn't know Walmart carried the 155/80/13's when I got the fr380's I kick myself for not checking.

OP here,

I have only driven it for 60 miles and the ride is as good as it gets. I don't hear road noise or vibration that people complain on the web. I just wonder if this is all season for not. Walmart needs to be more clear about what tires they are installing for customers instead of just indicating the size and price.

Go to DT. Lots of different tires from which to choose. I prefer the tires with longer warranties. You get a bigger prorate if they wear out early.

+1

That tire is a sister tire of the Kelly Explorer.(Kelly's entry level tire) If you rotate them often enough, I can't see why you couldn't at least get 40k on them (also will depend on drving). I don't think that car is heavy enough to be hard on tires...

I've run Douglas tires from Wal-Mart.

One set was their "Xtra-Trac" passenger tire. It was what could be called a "no-frills" tire.

I installed them on an '87 Monte Carlo, which had about 220,000 miles on it at that point.

Was it a top performing tire? No.

Did they meet a moderate level of expectation? Sure did.

Value for the dollar? Just fine in my book.

If they are Xtra-Tracs-KEEP THEM ROTATED!! You have free balancing & rotation through your Wally World service package-if you neglect to rotate them regularly, they will get so noisy you'll think you're driving on rumble strips! There are many better tires that cost a lot less-Kumho & Falken are two I've owned.

My car came with Douglas Performance GT-H tires. Although they seem to hold the road pretty well, they're loud. I won't buy Douglas again, not with excellent alternatives for not much more.
