Did you actually talk to the postmaster about this? Seems likely that this is just an oversight. I always prefer to give someone a good-faith opportunity to make things right before going the official route.

Why not throw down random chunks of rock salt...giving the sidewalk a moon crater marked appearance...making it doubly tricky to walk on it for anyone...more people would surely complain then.

That'll sure teach them a thing or two! Especially since the carrier that serves your home probably has nothing to do with clearing the sidewalks at the post office.


That's the responsibility of the city, not me. I usually go down there and do a better job of it than what the city does.

It's not just about snow on a sidewalk. It's overall tolerance for dysfunction. When those who are supposed to set standards engage in substandard performance the entire society gets license to become more slack. When higher standards were maintained you were "getting away with it". Now it's passively endorsed by authorities who should have no other standard than the highest.

The post office isn't a mistake at McDonald's drive through.
