NEVER had any brand of oil filter leak. I mean, it's like changing a light bulb. Too easy. I was taught this at a very young age, 12 or 13. Remove the old filter, clean the filter base with a rag, take a smear of old oil and rub it into the new gasket, Spin it on, go 1/4 turn with the wrench to snug it. Wipe filter clean. Check for leaks after you fill engine. Dump the oil in the City storm drain.... That was 1979. Then my dad said " okay, you're in charge of oil changes from here on out". That was the last time he was ever under a car. He was in his early 30's. Then it snowballed to brakes, tune ups, battery swaps, radiator flushes, carb fulel filters, points & condensers, belts, wash, wax, etc. Yeah, he got his money's worth out of me boy !!!! No free rides in that house !!!! ( I did do a double gasket ONCE....what a mess )
