They’re OK, but if you can get a Premium Guard, they’re the same filter, for (what should be) a lower price.

I miss the old Denso filters before they contracted out to China. I've taken these new ones apart and they're no beter or worse than most any other value filter out there.
I've used Denso wiper blades, air filters and spark plugs. Good quality parts. Never tried a Denso oil filter.
Too bad they went to build a factory in China and not the USA or Canada. There are no efficiency ratings for these that have been shown. They say two ply media, and “probably are very good” just because Denso is a well known company. I wouldn’t be going out of my way to buy them because of where they are made. They put some on Japan made Toyotas at the factory with a red adbv, so they are probably good filters.
Japan assembled filters would be used on Japan assembled vehicles so it will depend on where the assembly took place.
This is a old article but it still shows how much of a presence Denso has globally. From the article:
