This...I really like to DIY what I can, but often I find myself spending much more in related tool costs to do a job I have never done before than it would have cost to have a pro do it. Honestly, whether with my car or around the house, I don't DIY because it's cheaper, I do it so that I have greater knowledge of the things that impact me on a daily basis. I intend to pick up soldering so I can make simple circuits and do a little electrical work in my own house...again, NOT because I think I will save money, but because I want to know how and why things work, so that I can get ahead of problems so that they don't negatively impact me...
