Champion (Federal-Mogul) is currently using a circular can shape container for their line of oil filters.

The "Triad Fibers" technology period didn't last a long time. Fram air filters included Triad Fiber technology for a period as well. I recall issues with rogue fibers dislodging and melting on MAF sensors being an issue with the Fram Triad Fibers air filters. Fortunately I've never owned a vehicle with a MAF sensor.

For those who commented and helped me decipher the date, thank you. As an update the filter is currently in service on a coworkers 2016 Honda Pilot Touring with 5.75 quarts of Napa Synthetic 0w20. He will run it until the Honda OLM calls for a change as he did with the Factory fill and the Napa Service center fill (NAS Jacksonville Auto port). Each run has been about 8,000 miles with his driving habits. I'll be sure to post a cut of this filter if I perform the next service which I hope to do because I'd love to see inside this filter after 8,000 miles.

I know it is OT but the NAPA Synthetic 5W30 is smooth running oil. It seems to be a good match for the Cologne V6 in the Ford Ranger. I hope your circumstance is similar.

Good news, this now 9 year old filter has served it's time and returned with honor. Just removed it from the 2016 Pilot it was installed on for the last 9200 miles. Media is still strong, ADBV retained it's function. All is well. Enjoy.
