Download the Ultimate BootCD. Run Memtest86+. See if that gives us indication of a memory issue. Then run the CPU burn-in test to see if you can get it to freeze. If both tests show OK, it may be hard drive or driver related.
so which of these do i d/l? http://www.memtest.org/#downiso

Ok,so what's the proper name for the disc i need to "straighten out" XP and still be able to keep my stuff? Or is there a better way? I'm tired of this. When it freezes, i always have to turn off and start over.

I finally did a scan with my expired copy of counterspy and this is what i got,Trojan.Win32.Generic!BT.Would this be some of my problems?

That one.

As far as XP repair install, you need an XP CD.

No, it shouldn't be getting hot like that if the other stick isn't.

I've just erased adaware 7 and it seems to run better. It seems that it was running in the background without doing anything.A few sites even complain about this.
