Laughing at Ignore List
I absolutely have no issue with your list, which is driven 5% by content and 95% by attitude and tone!Being on my iGnore list is the next best thing to winning the Nigerian lottery![]()

What vehicle do you drive?
You do know that it's pretty likely that with modern engines, the rest of the car will fall apart around the engine anyway, no matter what oil you use?
Amsoil dealer. Not car dealer. You buy it through an Amsoil dealer.
You can order it off their website, and I guess they just keep the money that would have gone to a dealer, or you can sign up for a preferred membership with a dealer, like our own dear @Pablo, and some of what you order goes back to them. That's the "dealer" I was referring to.Last time I checked, Amsoil was priced competitively with the top tier oils at the local auto supply stores. Walmart/Costco retailers and Band X oils may be cheaper, of course. I order Amsoil off their site.
If you're saying that I'm spending money on oil changes, you are right. I don't mind.![]()
Basically what happens is that a lot of parts end up reaching their effective lifespans due to degradation due to time related issues (uv, ozone, heat, etc.) or other parts start to wear out, and meanwhile the engine is running fine.No. I do not know that.
I guess you've been lucky, but spend some time around here, and it's not hard to find people burning a lot of oil with good maintenance with quality synthetics. Very engine- and application-specific.Basically what happens is that a lot of parts end up reaching their effective lifespans due to degradation due to time related issues (uv, ozone, heat, etc.) or other parts start to wear out, and meanwhile the engine is running fine.
Modern engines last a really long time even with indifferent maintenance, and it's not unlikely or unusual for everything else to start failing before the engine starts to have any serious issues.
I'm considering this for my Gladiator as well, as it's still available by mail from my local Walmart. Does anyone have any substantive information on benefits it offers? I've heard it's more shear-resistant.M1 Truck & SUV 0W-20
LSJR tested it in HPL’S lab. It was the most shear stable and resisted break down the longest out of M1’s Dexos approved oils.I'm considering this for my Gladiator as well, as it's still available by mail from my local Walmart. Thanks, good to know!LSJR tested it in HPL’S lab. It was the most shear stable and resisted break down the longest out of M1’s Dexos approved oils.
Out of curiosity, what'd you go with after? This is anecdotal vs statistical; however, I tried it in my Challenger hemi and was so unimpressed I drained it after two drives and refilled with Redline due to a hot lifter tick. Neither drive was what I'd call severe usage. You may have a different result, but once I changed it, I never had a problem again.
He said he refilled with Redline.Out of curiosity, what'd you go with after?
Doh!He said he refilled with Redline.
