Just look at Amazon price for a filter for Honda S2000.

Purolator Pure 1 is very decent and popular here(I have some for S2000 and LS400), Mahle spin on filter was mentioned here the last few days and the infamous Fram Extra Guard filter.

Price from low to high:

P1 PL14459: $5.76
Mahle OC 330: $5.99
Fram PH6607 Extra Guard: $6.41

I have 6-7 filters for my S2000, when I need some I will surely get the Mahle OC 330, for reason that it's about 3/4" longer than P1 and filter media seems to be very high quality.

One filter I will sure not buying is Fram at this price, no reason to pay more for less.

Fram 'Ultra' filter....and you can do two 7,500 oil changes.

This filter is the best Fram makes....and is reasonably priced at $8.97 at Walmart.

Does Mahle have a silicone ADBV? 99% trapping efficiency?

If not, I'd go with the PureOne.

In case anyone's interested, here's what Honda says about their OE filters for the S2000 in the April 2004 issue of Honda Service News:
Quote:
S2000 Oil Filter: P/N 15400-PCX-004
When you’re talking about oil filters for ’00–04
S2000s, American Honda approves only one.
It’s P/N 15400-PCX-004, H/C 7523640. You
can use this filter on all models that specify
P/N 15400-PLM-A02, H/C 6663991. Keep this in
mind when ordering.

I just changed my oil and filter on my '06 S today and I run a Baldwin B202 oil filter on my S. Its a large filter at 3 11/16" X 5 3/8" long and its not to much money. You do have to add 1 extra qt. of oil because the filter is much larger than the Honda filter for the S. I put in 5 qt's.- start the engine -let it run for a min.-then check the oil and add the sixth qt. of oil.
