I'm just bragging.

This gun was my grandfathers. I shot it one time when I was a teenager but it jammed so I never bothered with it again. The serial # shows it to have been built in 1905!

I bought some fresh ammo for it and took it out to a legal shooting area in the desert.

I'm real impressed with it. It's a semi auto and holds 8 in the clip and one in the chamber. Pretty accurate considering the barrel length.

I wouldn't want to be on the recieving end.

My grandfather has one as well. In 380.
It was unfortunately stolen from his house in Las Vegas 10 or 12 years ago. Then, it was miraculously recovered a couple years back.
I agree, it is a pretty neat pistol.

I have a 1908 in 380 made in 1926. My dad traded for it and it was in almost new condition. He lives in Florida and it rusted a bit but is still very nice. The workmanship and polish is amazing. They don't make like this anymore.

Regarding the finish: I read in a gunsmithing book that the way the old bluing was mass produced on colt guns from this era involved degreasing by placing them in boiling gasoline.
