Cleaned the outdoor AC condenser units today.

Wow, that is a lot of dust/dirt covering the outdoor units. I clean my 2 heat pumps outside units 1 time each year and use Simple Green.

I clean mine twice a year but really never have much of anything in them. This year a 5 foot snake was sunning in one but I checked it several times since and he apparently found a new home.

Pull the fuse -
Take the top off - this is a very common thing and is probably 4-6 bolts.
Vacuum it out.
Ya. Other than the height my concern is that I would cause rust by breaking free the paint covered bolts on the top. Time to go find a neighbor who has a shop vac.

I don’t think so. I’ll look on the next Lennox unit I do as they are all the same model. Either way, it’s way cleaner now and I can see light through the fins. I don’t have any cottonwood trees but do have a sycamore (I think).
We had a sycamore storm this year with all the seeds. Just like dandelion seeds but brown. Willow trees too have the fine puffy seeds. This was a problem on the 90s Ford Taurus with the fuzz building up anywhere but directly in front of the fans.
