China copies F-150

Why are the headlights already all clouded like it has 125k miles?

Last week's TGUK takes a field trip to China where they check out clone cars, including ones with similarly weird alphanumerical model names.

The diesel sounds fun, of course, if it's a bolt-in to a Ford chassis. Had to be first to say it.

That is a 2003 copy of the silverado

I went to South Korea on a business trip back in 2001 or so, they had dead on balls copies of many European makes under unfamiliar local marques. S series BMWs, various Ininitis, etc. This is not limited to China.

Seriously.

But walmart-type garbage stretches dollars... Lol. While we wonder where our jobs and hard work goes.

In 2003 or so the Chinese supposedly had copied a raw egg, shell and all.

They don't care, they are pure capitalists, most don't even have the concept of IP, or even any moral equivalent of not stealing another persons work if it benefits their collective. It's a clash of political/economic systems that we did a terrible job of realizing and dealing with other than some people getting all puppy dog in love with the "labor rates" and hardly even focusing on the overall cost. I lived and breathed this junk for too many years.

China has been doing this for awhile. China is weird.

F150s DO look like Tonka trucks........... (id own one but im just sayin)

+1

Anyone remember pirate NES cartridges as a kid? The friend with the "100 in 1" game, with maybe 25 games before odd menu tricks with nothing past the second screen but same games with different colors?

If this was Star Trek the Chinese would be the Borg. Mindless group-think and anything goes for the benefit of the collective.

The Chinese cannot come up with anything original and innovative, they have to take an existing product and reverse engineer it.

In the 70's and 80's it was the Japanese that were constantly accused of coping other companies products/ideas. You don't hear about that today
