I am currently comparing Chevron Synthetic THF to the Schaeffer 315 Simplex oil. We have three tractors we wish to use this in, one is a Kubota, so the fluid has to meet the Kubota UDT spec and the JD 20 specs,. Currently running Shell Donax TD in the two John Deeres and Swepco 709 in the Kubota only. I treat the Kubota differently as it accumulates more hours and is used in the higher summer temperatures, it has about 4400. hrs on it.
My thinking is to eliminate the Donax and use a higher quality fluid in all three tractors. The Swepco costs about ten dollars more per gallon than these two fluids, they claim extended drains and all that but I still change it at the 400 hour mark as per the book. I change the JD tractors every season regardless of hours. It is never over. My thinking is switch to better oil and change the JD tractors every other season or at the required hours if that comes first. However still change the Kubota at the 400 hour mark. I am sending the Kubota tractor oil out for anylisis this week and one of the John Deeres. I may use analysis to suggest when to change in the future, but still feel better if I change as required by the book..
I am looking for opinions or experiences with these fluids any comments or real world experience.
