Hello All. First time posting, and first oil analysis results. Car has 59,879kms oil had 5,166kms with a Fram filter....(I know!) never again. Any suggestions? K&N drop in was used. Short trips less than 15kms per day.

Welcome, I have a 99 Grand Am GT, but am about to sell it. Well, you don't have coolent in the oil from the infamous intake gasket leak, so that's good. Higher silicon might indicate a switch back to a stock paper air filter as occasionally K and Ns show up more dirt in the oil.

Actually I was about to suggest that one may be developing due to the levels of Na and K.

That maybe increasing the wear as well. And/or the elevated silicon. Appears this is not a good application for K&N.

Thanks for your interpretation of these results. I kind of thought that the Si levels were on the high side so I will switch back to paper soon. I also know now that the LA1 engines are prone to gasket problems, so I want to keep an eye out for coolant leaks. Still have 40,000kms of warranty left. Thanks again!
