Most motorcycle maintenance plans and most motorcycle riders change their oil once a year - if the mileage is not reached.
If I say ride a 1000 miles and then park it for winter - I would basically throw out good serviceable oil.
My thinking is - most of the oil apart from leftover that doesn't run down in the pan - the oil just sits in the pan - so saying the oil is harming the engine isn't really right in my opinion.
Combining with somwhere on here there's an UOA from a car sitting for several years where the conclusion was: oil is fine and serviceable.
What's your take on that? Always store with fresh oil - or leave it in when it's theoretically still serviceable?
