Ran this on my 87 535is with some PYB 20w50/PP10w30. Got two of these from rock auto. Probably not going with them again after this, pleat spacing is horrible, yet everything was firm. Ripped off the gasket on top and used it on the other one which didn't have one of the two gaskets when I got it.

This is why one should stick with a name brand filter. I don't understand why someone would choose a cheap jobber filter to save a couple of dollars.

Champ isn't a name brand?

Purolator was OEM on this BMW.

Hate to break it to ya but quick lubes and large fleets use "jobber" filters like Auto Extra, Parts Plus

Odometer gears were broken for a while, but I repaired them about two years ago now. I drove the wheels off it for the first two years with no odometer reading, approximately 10k+ miles a year. Currently reads about 261,600. I have a UOA from this OCI that I should be getting back soon, my last one looked good aside from copper.

It cant be squished. The Centre tube provides vertical rigidity.

Champ makes mobile 1 filters and Harley Davidson filters.

Good reason to keep a safe distance from the quickie lube. If you get too close, they'll put one of these lower tier filters on your car. They should call this filter Chump p828. Wait...that's been done this week.
