Shame that Ford went from WIX to Puro for factory filtersSo much for a “premium” CQ made Purolator! AAP made a good move getting rid of them, hopefully Fram/Champion & Baldwin will be their suppliers from now on.

Well it made me think that possibly there was a bunch of condensation (water) in that oil. If I owned that rig I'd do another OCI in a couple months and see what that oil look like or at least extract a small sample and send it in for analysis if it looked strange.Dunno, I’d wager the Expedition having unknown history and maybe sat most last year and possibly used car place didn’t change filter
I’ll tell him that.Adam-this may seem like a long shot, but make sure that Expedition has a good thermostat & gets up to operating temperature regularly-my Grand Marquis had a stuck open ‘stat when I bought it, a 195F Superstat got the condensation out of my oil pretty quickly. It had the mayonnaise under the oil cap when I bought it, it’s never been back since. Didn’t do any permanent damage, though.
The ADBV was rock hardWow, imagine that, the tear was next to the seam.
Guess Puro still has not gotten their act together. How was the ADV? Any slits in it?
That's interesting, thought the 84502, being a CQ Premium (Pure One clone) would have a silicone ADBV. AAP definitely made good move dumping them. Any chance it was an R84502?The ADBV was rock hard
OK, that makes more sense, the "R" Purolator Classics have been similar in the way they fail, junk media & ADBVs.Yes was R 84502 but nitrile adbv that was hard as a rock
