my boss is a hardcore Bruins fan and I will hear about this for weeks, not just by his whining but by all of his friends rubbing it in his face...

Bruins had a great run. They were still playing only thanks to the Leafs choke in the 1st round. B's got stronger after that, just lost to a slightly better team. Nothing to be ashamed of, they played hard. Even if they win Game 6, it would have been very tough to knock off the Hawks at home in Game 7. Congrats to Chicago - good bunch of guys who played tough and fair until the end.

Wait a second... Granted I was upset with Rask, but I never, ever was blaming the Blackhawks, showing any anger towards or attempting to take anything away from them. In fact, one shouldn't have anything to do with the other, they're two mutually exclusive situations as I see it. We all knew that they were the better team at the end, they put forth the effort and they deserved to win, no question about it. So my congratulations to the Chicago Blackhawks and their fans.

What a nailbiter! The whole series in fact... and things are going to be real interesting next season. As a Caps fan I'm trying not to be bitter

Congrats HAWKS!

Nah we got the Sox next, but the B's and Sox are a moons rotating around the The Hoodie and Pats, no doubt.

It was a tough series ... I was cheering for Blackhawks but the Bruins must have been stunned in the last 1 1/2mins of last night's game. Heaving accolades for Corey Crawford - he kept the Hawks in the games during the Bruins consistent onslaught.

First off, Rask did not blow the game for Boston.
You can put all the blame for that squarely on the entire defense.
They completely abandoned him in that game.

You can personally put the blame on Chara for the first and last goals by Chicago.
He actually wasn't on the ice for the tying goal, which is a small miracle.

The defense did not keep their positions clear of Chicago players, and both of those last goals could have been prevented if the Boston defensemen took the Chicago player out of the picture by either tying up the body, or lifting a stick.

I'm very glad Chicago won the series, though, for two reasons:

First off, they eliminated the Detroit Red Wings, after spotting them a 3-1 series lead.
That means a lot to this Colorado resident.

Second, Boston eliminated my NY Rangers.
I have been a Rangers fan since I was born, and learned what hockey was.
Being half Canadian, I learned what hockey was at a very, very young age.

And finally, being a NYC boy, born and raised in Queens, I love watching teams from Boston lose big games, in big ways.

Boston played a great series, and I respect and applaud their team for what they did to the Penguins.
But they beat my Rangers, and that makes me root against you, every single time.

If they had faced Detroit in the Finals, I would have been forced to root for Boston, just like I was forced to root for Boston when they played the Penguins.

Regardless, it was a fantastic Cup Series, and I enjoyed every game, very much.
I look forward to next season to see who gets there.
Hopefully the Avs will man up this year with Patrick Roy as coach, and Joe Sakic working behind the scenes.

BC.
