That doesn't work if it's flooded though. As you add even more fuel, it still won't fire, and you'll make a wrong conclusion. Better to hook the spark wire to a test plug and check for spark directly.


Actually, testing the plug that way, isn't always the solution. It will work 99% of the time but not always. It's best to have known good working spark plug on hand. I've had at least two incidents where the plug would spark outside the cylinder but not inside under pressure. Took a frustrating while to figure it out. Now I make sure I have an alternative plug on hand. Another place to watch is the spark plug cap. I've had them malfunction too.
 
Ignition coil module. Had one doing the same thing. Had me chasing all over the place until I replaced the module. Runs like a top now.
 
Thats the cold beer drinking time delay feature.
