Some may recall me doing a BG EPR treatment on another tow vehicle of mine, the 1998 4runner with 225k miles on it.

The oil looked great and subsequent filters looked great with zero globs or pieces of carbon.

This time I did a BG EPR on my highlander that has 77k miles on it and had 10k mile m1 0w20 or toyota 0w20 changes.

Again everything looked extremely clean.

What year is the Highlander? That’s the 2GRFE (I imagine).

Have you run 10,000 mile intervals the entire time you’ve owned it?

I have also used EPR to clean my 2 Ecodiesel engines. 10000 mile OCI on both engines.
Seems to me that it works better than any other "engine cleaner". It feels like it is some kind of acid based product rather than kerosine based. Not sure thou...

Looks like not much to clean to begin with but it may of done some cleaning though. You going to keep the oil changed at 10k intervals?

How do the cylindar walls look? I am planning on doing a flush after HPL EC for my honda just because of the carbon lines on the cylindar walls, engine is super clean otherwise

I did BG EPR in 3 cars last year, I didn't notice anything off hand but maybe wasn't looking closely enough to notice. I can say that 2 of those cars have noticeable stuff in the filters from just 1 run of HPL EC30.

One has 228k on it and the other 178k on it. Good service histories with MM on the 228k CRV but unknown on the oil or direct OCI's. The 178K Forte was Firestone/Pep Boys for much of it's prior ownership.

The BG EPR in my '17 Accord didn't show anything and the HPL EC30 didn't have much on the filter after about 3500 miles. First 49k life unknown oil and OCI. From 55k-99k (current) M1 or PP with about 7500 OCI's.
